DXCC Dayton Hamvention Card Checking (Just A Reminder!) - Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Manager, reports: "DXCC staff and approved card checkers will be checking cards at the Dayton Hamvention from May 18-20th. Checking will be done during all operating hours of the convention. Following these simple steps will help make processing go quick and easy: There is a 120 card limit per applicant. Larger applications may be checked as time is available after all other applications are finished. (No larger applications will be checked on Sunday). If some cards cause the application to exceed 120 QSOs, this is OK. Cards MUST be sorted first by band, then by mode. Cards with more than one QSO should be placed together at the end of the application. Do not sort cards alphanumerically. Applications not properly sorted may be returned for proper sorting. Prepare all paperwork ahead of time. The record sheet is required when submitting cards at Dayton. Use the latest application form available at www.arrl.org/awards/dxcc. Fill in ALL fields on the record sheet. Write clearly and concisely. Do not use forms with fields other than those that appear on the standard ARRL form. There are no restrictions on what can be checked. (Cards for 160 meters and deleted entities are OK.) DXCC will not bring applications with cards back to ARRL HQ. All cards must be checked and claimed in Dayton. For those submitting a hybrid application (LoTW and paper credits combined), the LoTW application must be in the LoTW system by 7:30 AM Monday morning, May 21st. If you do a hybrid application, you must note on the LoTW application that a paper application is being made. You must also note on your paper application that you will be submitting a LoTW application by checking the appropriate box. Applications for other ARRL awards, such as WAS, VUCC, WAC, can be checked. When you arrive at the booth, please take a number and stay near the booth. When your number is called go to the next available checker. Your cards will be checked while you wait and they will be immediately returned to you. If you need a personal copy of the application and record sheets please handle this before you arrive. DXCC cannot make copies for you on site. Please see rule 15 for the latest fees. Acceptable payment methods a Major credit card, check (by USA bank only), money order (both USA and international), cash (US dollars only). DXCC cannot bill you. Following these steps will allow us to process your application quickly and in minimal time. Contact Bill Moore, NC1L at with questions." DX HOSPITALITY SUITE.
