It had been refinished, as there were slight signs of drippage along the back of the
top of the console, but it was a very nice job overall. It was better looking than
most of the $1,500 ones that sell on eBay.

Did it sell at the show? Well, yes and no. It was in the auction Thursday evening,
and changed hands there somewhere in the low $500 range, so it was sold once. The
new owner kept it in his booth throughout the rest of the show, and did take it home
with him.

There was also a second 38-690 in the auction, needing a full restoration that went
for over $400.

Jim,
what is your opinion of having the auction first in the show, as ARCI -
Willowbrook did? My feeling is it steals energy from Saturday, where the
general public is more inclined to show up. Elgin was always dead by mid
Friday, I never stayed for Saturday ever... but, at Lansing, a lot of
stuff happens on Saturday, I feel its because we have the main and bargain
auctions last.
