Bill, any chance you could take a close-up of the hand strap? Mine, like
every one I've seen, only has a shoestring there. Yours appears to have
something else.

I'd love to see it...

It's a piece of leatherette made into a handle. Later personal portables
used leather and in some Emersons, they used molded plastic.

So, by "leatherette" you mean some form of plastic, I presume?

Does it have a buckle, too?

It's kind of a vinyl covered cloth, wrapped around the two loops, then sewn
together in the middle.
