Anyone know what it's FOR?

Says Pacent Adapter, and was between one the 71's and the socket in a Bosch
28 I got in today.

Unless I'm confused, it connects to pin 3 (grid) and 4 (filament) of the
'71.

My guess is that it's to feed audio from a phonograph or shortwave radio
to the stage without having to modify the radio. I'm not sure what it
would do in a push-pull stage such as on the Bosch 28, nor why the
adapter doesn't go to the '26 audio stage instead.

Usually they were to connect a gramaphone pickup to the audio of a radio not
equipped with a 'phono' input. However, the '71 on that Bosch is one of the
output tubes, so that is the wrong place on that set. It probabaly should
have been under the '26. The pin connections are correct for that as well.
