Antenna Socket - GE B-52 Radio
 

Looking for a plug to mate with the antenna socket on a General Electric
model B-52 radio, which operates on either 6 volts or 120 volts AC.

It is a bayonet type, a little smaller than a standard pilot lamp socket.
The mating male plug would have bayonet pins. I have never seen anything
like this before.

Dave, that looks like an old style car radio antenna connector. I assume
you traced the wire back to assure it is the antenna lead, because it also
looks like it could be half of the 6V supply fuse holder. I have an RCA
[read GE] power converter that has a 6V fuse holder that looks very much the
same.

As usual, you are right on! I tried the male end of a 6 volt in-line metal
fuse holder from one of my farm sets, and it works! The problem, of course,
is finding these fuse holders. I do have a NOS chassis mount type Motorola
female antenna connector with matching plug, but I would prefer to stay
original. The radio's DC cord also calls for 2 metal in-line fuse holders!
So, I really need 3 just for this radio. Plus, most of my 6 volt sets are
missing the original fuse holders.

I guess I'll just add these to my list of items to look for a radio swap
meets.
