Just gotta love well identified components!
This is (supposed to be) a .05uf cap. Still don't know the original voltage.
I replaced it with a .047/630V. I couldn't even identify it until someone provided me with a schematic. The radio is a German (I think) Schaub-Lorenz Goldy 57. After a recap, and modifying the eye tube socket from the original EM85 to work with one of my surplus EM80's, the radio now works like a champ. There was one interesting thing that still confuses me, though: When trying to align the FM (88~100 MHz), the normal procedure of adjusting the LO coil at 88, then the LO trimmer at 100, it kept getting further and further off. It finally popped right in and tracks perfectly once I decided to try it the other way around. Turns out that the LO trimmer is in series with the LO coil on this radio... go figure. -- Say no to institutionalized interference. Just say NO to HD/IBOC! |
