Part 3 and last.
There are three large dials on the radio. The one in the centre is labelled "Wavelength", clearly for tuning the desired frequency. The other two are not marked at all. What do they do? |

The other two are not marked at all. What do they do? Buck, Without looking at a schematic, I would guess all three dials are for tuning the RF stages, as in an A****er Kent model 20. I don't know the date of your radio, but the AK 20 preceded ganged tuning systems. The interior photo seems to locate the tuning condensers approximately where those dials are on the front panel. Later radios used metal bands or even chains to link the three condensers, and then we ended up with three condensers on one shaft. But I'd be happy to be corrected. Cheers, Nelson |

As you say the variable caps line up with the dials (I've looked at other pics on the net as well). Perhaps band spread and fine tuning? (I'm way out of my league here, just a guess). |
