It could be a land mobile frequency and you may be hearing a Diagnostic
Rhyme Test being done for voice quality. news wrote: some king of spy ? just reads jibberish -- Joe Leikhim K4SAT "The RFI-EMI-GUY"© "Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason? For if it prosper, none dare call it treason." "Follow The Money" ;-P |

Well that would put him in an area where "T band" Channel 14 is used for
LMR. And 476 MHz is T band. He is hearing a DRT from a system being tested. Likely NYPD or FD. Evan Platt wrote: On Sun, 18 Mar 2007 18:47:54 -0400, **THE-RFI-EMI-GUY** wrote: What frequency? The old UHF CB Frequencies are what they use in GMRS radios.

The "UHF CB" frequencies were part of the old "Class A" CB. Class A was renamed GMRS. A license is required now, just as it was back in the old days. |

FRS is one of the Citizens Band radio services, which uses UHF. GMRS is the old "Class A" CB, just renamed; but still remains one of the "Personal Radio Services" -- John GMRS Consumer information website: http://www.geocities.com/gmrspage |
