Rebanding
Is 700MHz re-banding something that's currently going on anywhere these
days? No way I'm gonna invest in a digital scanner until more models come out that address this issue w/o a major hardware upgrade! |
Rebanding
Most of the new scanners can be flash upgraded to support any rebanding.
just read the 'features' of a scanner before you buy. Not sure about ALL scanners especially the cheaper ones. "Marc" wrote in message ... Rebanding
I think you mean 800 MHz rebanding. And yes it is going on!

Rebanding
Not only do the channel numbers change, the scanner needs to now contain
and old and new channel table and be able to read the control flag that dictates from which table to look up. Otherwise some systems that don't get re-banded, IE the many interleaved systems, won't be able to be received. It sounds trivial until you consider all the variables, wrote: On 2007-03-30, Marc wrote: Is 700MHz re-banding something that's currently going on anywhere these days? The only thing for Motorola systems is that the channel numbers will change so that is all that is needed to be updated in the scanner firmware. -- Joe Leikhim K4SAT "The RFI-EMI-GUY"© "Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason?
