Dana ...

^ ... CHP ... station 42.4 is quiet ... in Ventura County area.

I don't know what's happening in Ventura but the CHP is shifting to repeated
frequencies in the area of 39 MHz. They may have done this in your area.

The CHP has ZERO interest in moving off of the 39/42/45Mhz band. The main
reason is it WORKS. Works in canyons, up/down the coast and thru the desert.
Check for *NEW* channel "pairing"..but dont expect them to move anytime
soon...Eddie

Dana,

If you go to this website, Tracy has a long article to answer your
question: http://www.freqofnature.com/

Once you are there, wait for the menu in the left hand column to load
up. Then click on the following: "Frequencies", "California" "CHP".

Once you are on the CHP page, scroll down and you will see the article.
