Scanners with TV

Hi all.
It's the ICOM IC-R3 the only scanner with a TV on it?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi all.

I have read that it is the first scanner in the world with a tv on it.

However, I believe that even before that, there was some way to hook a scanner
up to a tv to monitor the video of scanner frequencies, without a frequency
converter.

I'm not sure how that worked. I think it was something about "tapping the IF
output" of the scanner, but I'm not sure how that works in regards to video.

I've heard that police video transmissions were in some of the ham bands back
then.

That's because ham transmissions in the 400 mhz band and up are only secondary
users or below, not primary users. at least, allocation-wise. actual users
(transmissions) on the frequencies may vary in certain areas.

such as certain areas might actually have more ham transmissions on those
frequencies than any other users, even though hamss are only allocated
secondary use or lower on those bands. while other areas might have more
transmissions by a different type of user than ham users on those frequencies.

Where I currrently live, ham transmissions of any kind seem to be completely
absent in the 900 MHZ band and above.

while I have heard that they are very active on those frequencies in other
areas.
