I own it's brother the VR-500
They do not follow trunked radio systems.
Their scan rates are slower than most Uniden and RS scanners.
The VR-500 is a decent "conventional" scanner.
The strength of the 120D and the 500 is the wide coverage.
I listen to Marine, Taxis, drive through windows, Shortwave, medium wave
etc...
I do not listen to police or public service ( I have a pro-95 for that)
I might add that the 120D little brother has one desirable advantage over
the
500 in that it has a built in ferrite bar antenna for medium wave. I wish
I had that.
I wish somebody sold a medium wave, ferrite bar antenna that would
plug into a bnc connector.

It is not a scanner, it is a communications receiver. it is a good radio,
but it is not a Police Scanner.
