We at swl-remotes.com have developed an infrared remote control for
the NRD-535. You can now control your NRD-535 receiver from your easy
chair using a Universal Remote.

Our approach was to include the most comprehensive control of the
NRD-535s features and put that control into the hands of the shortwave
listener using a commonly available Universal TV Remote control. Our
design is based on a 20MHz microcontroller to insure that the control
is fast. We wanted our design to permit reliable and robust control
of the radio that could be used in an intuitive fashion without
confusion. Our efforts were put into making the control comprehensive
and user friendly. If the remote were not easy to use, it wouldn't be
used. We also provide an LED that gives feedback so you can tell what
the unit is doing.

The SWL IR Remote control features direct frequency entry to 1Hz,
control of modes, filters, BWC, and PBS analog controls. Tuning steps
are in 1HZ, 10Hz, 100Hz, 1kHz, 5kHz, 9kHZ, 10kHz, 100kHz, and 1MHz.
One of our best features is how simple it is to select a tuning step
and then control the radio with the CH +/-. Press one digit (for
example 5 for 5 kHz steps) and then CH+/- and you are using 5 kHz
steps. The tuning step stays until you change it again. The up and
down frequency pacing is a parameter setting so you can speed it up or
slow it down to your liking.

Of course you can select memories directly, move up and down through
the memories, and switch between VFO and memory modes. You can also
write the VFO to a memory channel.
