do you realize how much money it takes to run a shortwave station. With the
cost of electricity, i am sure Mr.Weiner charges a bit more to those with
controversial topics(stupid brother stair. LOL), or maybe gives a break to
someone who actually has something good to say

Not only electricity (which is horrifically expensive for a 50 KW AM
station), but have you ever tried to keep an attorney on retainer just in
case some bug you've sold time to does something really stupid?

Why are you sure? Brother Stair brags about how stations come to him and
offer time at a deeply discounted rate. He says he's getting time as cheap
as seven or eight dollars an hour.

Brother Stair certainly has shown no stupidity when it comes to buying radio
time.

Maybe Alan Weiner does set his rate based on the message. And maybe the
guys who want to buy time will check out the rate from WWCR or WWRB or
somebody else. I'm sure there are limits to any controversy surcharge.

"Free speech" is a defense against police repression. If someone from
NAMBLA was to get up in Chicago and start making POLITICAL speech
about how people like him were being wrongly persecuted the speech
would be protected by the First and Fourteenth amendments of the U.S.
Constitution and the Little First Amendment in the Illinois
Constitution.

(Speech about how and where to pick up kids might be criminal
conspiracy.)

I don't think that anyone selling time to him to spew his crap would
have anything to boast about.
