I would like to display UTC in my tool bar but when set up for UTC it is in
the 12 hr format not the 24 hr format. Is their any way I can do this or is their a program I can download to display UTC on my desktop? Using XPHome for operation Sys. Thanks Les |

Control Panel, then Regional Settings. Select the 24-hour clock option.

Thanks for asking this question. I decided to switch the time display
in Windows XP to 24 hour. Now, I have a question. Is there a way to show TWO times in the XP toolbar? I'd like to show local (EST) time as it is currently and also have a label "UTC HH:mm" which would be local + 5 hrs, except when on DST which would be local + 4 hrs. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Al ================= Mark wrote: Control Panel, then Regional Settings. Select the 24-hour clock option. Mark. Auckland, New Zealand. "Les" wrote in message ... If you wanted to bring up the run-dialog, you had to use the "WinKey-R" keyboard shortcut. Other than that, it worked like a charm. Note that as soon as I uninstalled it, the "Start | Run" route to the run-dialog began working again. That is interesting. I have it on my XP with no such problem. Guess it depends on the quirks of your specific install. |

Hi Al,
If you mean showing two clocks in the "System Tray" as its called, then no, you can't do that. But there's quite a few free downloads out there that will allow you to configure a number of clocks and display them on your screen. Mark. "Al Patrick" wrote in message ... Of course, besides downloading a third party free or shareware program, you could get Windows to do it provided you are willing to go all the way and get rid of the 12 hour clock and local time period. You can change the time display to 14:24:32 (you can use another character like dot instead of colon but I'm not sure if you can get rid of the separator altogether) in Control/Regional and Language Options. Hit the Customize button and on the advanced sheet change the hh:mm:ss tt to HH:mm:ss. (capital H, no tt) You can also choose your time zone (control date/time or double click the time in your task bar and use time zone sheet). You want GMT (Cassablanca/Monrovia) and DON'T AUTO ADJUST THE CLOCK FOR DST. (I suppose if you choose that option, the difference between GMT UK and GMT Africa doesn't matter.) |
