Well here it goes.
I have the above antennas made by Hygain 1 of 70-30 Sat and 1 of 216 Sat The problem I have is that the physical footprint of both theses antennas are to long for where I want to put them.I can make the boom shorter by removing a section of the boom from the directors end,what I mean by removing is to undo the the coupling on the boom and this would save me about 5 feet of boom length.What I was wondering is what ramification this will present.I realize I will loose some gain,but what about all the other electrical characteristic will this effect (bandwidth,inpedence,swr etc.) thanx howard |
