Hi
i'm after a cheap outdoor aerial for my old scanner, nothing special just something to use to listen around the 450mhz range, i've seen http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/mod...3&P roducts=1 which looks ok, but was just wondering if a whip would do the trick, i think i saw somewhere someone who made something similar to the maplin one out of a plastic pipe and a lot of telephone bell wire wound round it dont really want to spend that much money on it as i'll probably get bored again in a few months time and put it back in the loft! ta Chris |

You get a couple of db gain over a 1/4 wave whip. http://www.packetradio.com/jpol.htm Since you're not transmitting you don't need to worry about any fine tuning. -D -- "A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." -Herm Albright |
