This is, I believe, a record price on Ebay for
a HQ-180 series receiver (assuming the winning bidder went through with it) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=008 |

Pricey! I just emailed another HQ-180 fan about that auction. I Have been watching these for some time now, and I think you sold one recently that did pretty well. I thought I paid way to much for mine at 495 locally! I had thought this one may go for 800-900. . Amazing. Also remarkable how some positive published reviews on a used radio can affect the market price. Dave |

Sorry, you are confusing me with dxace1. We are two different individuals. As I recall though, we both worked for the government, and we've both been to Djibouti. Yes, I was watching that one and thought MAYBE I would throw a bid at it if
the price didn't go too high. Silly me. "dxace1" wrote in message ... This is, I believe, a record price on Ebay for a HQ-180 series receiver (assuming the winning bidder went through with it) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=008 |

I think that makes two 180's I have seen in recent years
going way above the $1,000 mark. It's interesting to watch these as obviously a lot depends on the condition. But I am amazed at this level, I would expect only near NIB to achieve.... Two collectors who both want a collectible can push the auction price sky high. Collectors suck (except for Coohoo). |

I suspect the shiny chassis was a factor, not just because it was
shiny but also because it sent a message that the receiver is just out of the box. |
