am I the only one that noticed a few months ago that 1/2 gallon containers
of ice cream are no longer 1/2 gal but now 1 3/4 QTs !!!!!

I had the misfortune of finding one of those at the local Safeway store. I got
the container home to find it had a few large scoops missing out of it. Some
idiot of stocking person had helped themselves to the contents using a spoon
from the kitchenware isle, then shoved the violated container at the bottom row
of the freezer. I like getting the ice cream from the bottom row, because it's
the coldest and survives the long drive home better.

I returned the container to the store immediately and they apologized profusely.
I got a free (and SEALED) replacement.

Ice cream is serious business.
