I don't think so... I have sold them for about $150 and they did not go new
for $50

IMHO - The 'opinional' Kenwood VC-20 VHF Converter
is hard-to-find for sale on it's own then to find
a Kenwood R-5000 Receiver that has one a VC-20 VHF
Converter already installed in it for sale.
