I realize this is off-topic, but I thought that perhaps some
knowledgeable individual (preferably with hands-on experience with such equipment) could give me an informed opinion on how ITT's tactical radio products compare performance-wise to those of Harris Corporation. Specifically, I'd be interested in any opinions of the VHF performance of Harris's current Falcon II product line (e.g. AN/PRC-117) and ITT's current SINCGARS product line, which both see high usage in the US and other militaries worldwide. Not interested in Harris's edge where multi-band is concerned; only interested in opinions on VHF performance. Speaking specifically to those who have used such equipment, any preferences for the equipment of one of these radio manufacturers over the other? And why? Any informed opinions with regard to performance, reliability, drawbacks, ease of use, etc etc would be most appreciated. In essence, in what areas would one have an advantage over the other? Thought I'd pose the question here, since we have some very knowledgeable individuals in these groups, some with military experience... Apologies for the off-topic nature of the query. Regards, Junius |
