The windom type antennas work very well as a convenient means of doing a
pretty fair job of getting signals out. They are generally user friendly in terms of bandswitching. Go here and check these out for something that appeals to you. I run the 160m Beam Special, and think well of it. The same length wire, fed with ladderline in the center, works out just as well, all other factors being equal. The 160m Beam Special works as primarily a top loaded 32' vertical (yes, there is some horizontal radiation, too) on 160m to give low angle radiation. |
