The heatwave weapon can, by contrast, target troublemakers from 750 metres. It works by dispatching high-powered radio waves from a vehicle antenna, similar to a satellite television dish, causing the molecules in a target's skin to vibrate violently, creating a burning sensation. -- 73, Cecil http://www.w5dxp.com |

I wonder what type of defense will be necessary against such a weapon? Metallic threads woven into the threads making up ones attire? Metallic powders bonded within the fabric? Conductive carbon fibers? Be interesting to see what offerings come about ... Regards, JS |

Something like body paint or stage make-up should be thick enough to stick to the skin and provide a protective layer. Or how about a body stocking and tights sprayed with metallic paint? Mmmm, nice... :-) Mike G0ULI |

Their previous problems were long bows and bullets which this weapon seeks to avoid. -- 73, Cecil http://www.w5dxp.com |

Now, if I can just figure out a way to mechanically fasten all empty beer cans (I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FORM! :-) ) into some suitable EM Armour which allows easy movement ... Regards, JS |

If you take the time to do that, I can pretty much guarantee you will get your picture published on the web. -- 73, Cecil http://www.w5dxp.com |

![]() Let me be the first to predict this weapon won't go very far.. It will not take the cell phone generation but milliseconds to realize that staying behind a parabolic (more or less) piece of aluminum foil or cut open beer cans stuck to a cardboard contraption will bounce back the energy giving the troops/police backing up the emitting vehicle a taste of their own... Tin foil hats, anyone? denny |

Tin foil hats, anyone? denny everybody is on about metal objects for protection. has anybody seen what happens when you put metal in a microwave??? lots of sparks and heat. best defence is to avoid it in the 1st place |
