Default Mounting 2 Meter ham antenna on Jeep CJ5 Softtop ?

The spring is designed to yield instead of the antenna and adds no more
inductance than its overall length as it is short-circuited by a braid
inside. Bend the spring to verify the braid is intact.

oh yeah, art would like this one! if the braid is inside the spring, how
does it work? wouldn't the skin effect keep the current on the outside of
the spring? or is the braid for the current traveling back down the inside
of the antenna??? ART! Help!!!

Tsk, Tsk, Dave,

The spring is diamagnetic and bends itself towards your contact when
you transmit.
