Default Arrl antenna book cd does not install, help

I tried to install the cd contained in the arrl antenna book latest
edition but at the end of the process it shows an error. So I was
wondering if there's another method to see what's inside and
particularly the previous edition of the antenna book that, according
to what someone said on this newsgroup, should be contained in the cd.
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi Francesco,

Right click on the symbol for that drive (do not double click) and
select "Explore."

the disk dosn't have to really install, just the viewer program,
most people just either explore it as mentioned or use the arrl
program to navigate /view it

you can of course put the entire cd on your hd if you like

just treat it like any other file, copy the cd image or the entire
contense to a new folder on your computer

then try to get their viewer working it should install, since you
didn't mentioned why it didn't install i can t say more what error
messages did you get?

you can also perhaps call arrl they may be able to walk u thru a simple
install or a tech issue w/it not installing

most of the files are common files there you should be able to view
them even w/o the arrl program however it makes it easier

good luck

Copy the CD to its own directory on the HD, then create an icon to the
pdf that is the index. You should be able to find the icon for the
book. Use that for the icon image.
As the book is a series of linked pdfs you only need the starting one
which IIRC is 000.pdf or some such name. From there on it's just like
using the installed version.

At this point you can install the other individual programs.

Just use the latest version of Adobe's free reader.
Which BTW some of the older books would install their own "older"
version of Adobe reader over top of a newer resident version, which
was a very good reason for the copy instead of install.
