A quick analysis of a 75M inverted vee with an included angle of about 70
degree shows: Apex at .5 wavelengths: Bidirectional horizontal pattern with a front to side ratio of 8.4 db, vertical pattern a single lobe at 30 degrees and 6.7 dBi gain. Apex at 60 feet: Omnidirectional pattern with the vertical pattern showing a gain of 5 dBi straight up and a gain of 1.5 dBi at 30 degrees and a gain of -1.3 dBi at 20 degrees. For comparison, a 1/4 wave vertical which would be about 63 feet tall, shows a gain of .6 dBi at 20 degrees. -- Jim Pennino |
