Have been on the Bay of "E", and found myself a wattmeter -"Sierra"
great instrument WITH SLUG (4 power settings, range from 2-30 MHz!)
, and bought for 75 bux with shipping! Was listed (in all places ), on
the 2 METER page! , and less than 13 hours to be bought- no bids!
Yet, going to the Bird (oh , exulted one!) listings, see bids for
the following:
2-30 mHz slug, range -- 50 KW, bid on that is 36.99
2-30 mHz slug range -- 25 KW, bid on this is 60.00
2-30 mHz slug range -- 60 KW (hey, this aint even normal for the
meters)! Bid 31.00.
If this the new norm that is to bring technical compentance to amateur
radio, then I fear for it's existance!
And, there is a Struthers (similar to the Sierra) for bid, with 3 slugs
(each with 4 power levels, good to around 400 mHz), no BIDS (opens at
100 bux)! And the guy auctioning it, doesnt seem to know SQUAT about
what it even good for!
Beginning to think that Darwin had it BACKWARDS !! Regression of the

The bloom is coming off the Ebay rose. I've looked at a number of their
Ham related items, and prices are coming down. There will always be the
lucky seller that gets some bizarre price for their equipment.

And yeah, Devolution seems to be running rampant! 8^)
