Explain, please. What is wrong with Kraus's works?
Alan AB2OS On 07/20/04 09:40 pm Cecil Moore put fingers to keyboard and launched the following message into cyberspace: John Kraus W8JK has passed away at age 94. He is the inventor of the corner reflector, helix and W8JK antennas. I'm really sorry to hear that. But his works will live in infamy. |

Explain, please. What is wrong with Kraus's works? Mea Culpa! I would have bet $100 that the definition of infamy was "forever famous". I had no idea that it is defined only in a negative context. When people said I was "infamous" on this newsgroup, I took it as a compliment. I believe the modern appropriate response is: My bad! John Kraus is one of my heroes. My ignorance of the definition of a word certainly wasn't intended to dim his accomplishments. -- 73, Cecil -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

Brown was ridiculed for suggesting such blasphemy, even by the U.S. Patent Office in rejecting his patent application." Yes. I remember reading John Kraus` account of the situation. As I recall, the IRE rejected George Brown`s findings and would not publish his paper. Kraus figuered the IRE wouldn`t publish a similar paper from him either. So he waited his time until he had a related paper to publish and then Kraus attached Brown`s work. It sailed through the reviewers and was published. Best regards, Richard Harrison, KB5WZI |
