Following on the subject of coil loads on radiators I saw a mobile end fed
dipole with a single loop at the center (cell?) It occured to be that the loop contained a capacitance of value dependent on the "pitch" of the loop as the loop was not "closed" Does anybody know what the addition of the loop was for (phase change?) and its radiation addition to the dipole? Note that the addition of another coil to the loop would change the impedance immensely. does the said loop encourage perpetual motion that Roy talked about? Regards Art |
