Butternut HF6V questions

I just bought a Butternut HF6V antenna at a Hamfest.



My question is does the coil at the base have a critical purpose? Can it
be removed? I wasted it matches 30 meters that doesnt interest me.



Secondly, can I hook a 50 ohm coax directly to it and forgo the 75 ohm
matching coax?

Yagi fishing rod 20 meter band

Hello all!

Im searching for building plans for two element full size yagi for 20
meters.i want something simple like with fishing rods because i want it to
be portable.with a small tv rotor to mount it in two different qth that i
have and some speciall callsign operations.Any plans acceptable.thank

Copper Antenna Paste...

Is there a good off the shelf copper paste anyone knows of that is
available at the local hardware store that can be used on antenna aluminum
connections? Between elements, etc.



Looking for actual experience, have you used it, did it work, how long has
it been in place, etc... That is the sort of information I am looking
for. I dont have time to order the stuff DX Engineering sells before the
rains set it here... I need it today, or tomorrow...

Common mode choke for static drain?

I have a bunch of 20mh common mode chokes for ac filtering. Can i use
these connected in series for 40mh total as a static drain for my vertical
antenna? Will adding a 10 megohm resistor in series before the choke
provide better isolation?

I have a city row house and am anxious to not upset my neighbors by turning
their electronically controlled devices on and off as I transmit. I also
have an extensive junk box with a variety of loading coils, baluns and auto
tuners. Im planning to put up an 18 MFJ vertical up from a top floor
balcony. to transmit on 40, 20 and 17 meters. My 100 watt transmitter will
