Hi

I just purchased this antenna (Moonraker EVX 5000) on eBay -- it is a trapped HF vertical
for 10m-15-20-40-80m with gain of 3.5db and is 7.30 meters in height.
Their are optional radial rods (10, 15, 20 m) for this antenna., they look like mobile whips.
If I use a full length 1/4-wave counterpoise with this antenna, will it work better
using ground radials or with elevated radials below the antenna base (attached to a mast)?
If I put the antenna at height of 10 to 30 feet ?
Thank you.

Yes,

Moonraker is a UK manufacturer of amateur radio vertical antennas.
Here is their web site:
http://www.moonrakerukltd.com/shop.php?cat_select=12

The EVX5000 currently sells for £ 169.95 .
The EVX-KIT1 is the radial kit for 10, 15 and 20 meter usage and sells for £ 39.95
The EVX-KIT2 is the radial kit for 40 meters and sells for £14.95

ALL 1/4 wave HF vertical antennas requires radials (counterpoise) for proper operation
(Think of this as being the other side of a 1/2 wave dipole that has been rotated 90 degrees).

For a multi-band HF vertical, there needs to be at least one radial for each band of operation.
Whether it is ground mounted or mounted on a mast, the radials will still be required.

hello yes and no good choice your trumpet vertical it s better than
pseudo balunized cb flagpoles even if you only get your 3.5 commercial
db on 10m if you can afford the radial kit would be more covenient to
install the antenna on a 30ft high pole but surely less efficient ad
more expensive than full length radials logical it s up to you
