I presently cannot access my subscribed usenet server so I logged on to
Google Groups. What a surprise. They have updated their usenet function to reduce the posting delay from hours to minutes, i.e. make newsgroup access fully functional. -- 73, Cecil http://www.qsl.net/w5dxp |

Thanks for that info Cecil. I find Cox Communications often loses newsgroup

Fully functional, EXCEPT for making the default reply button not quote the text of the previous post! If Google is used on a busy group it can get very difficult to figure out what is actually being replied to. It gets annoying to have to go and read other posts in the tree just to figure the thread out. Apparently there is a way of replying that quotes the previous text, but this involves clicking on a few buttons to do it. Pip |
