![]() "KB1IBE" wrote in message ... Hello folks, I am experimenting with QRP-level antennas and wondered what the best-simplest-cheapest might be. Any suggestions? (so far, I have a 40m dipole up) Have also good results with a L/2 vertical (aluminum) erected quasi alone in the field in pulling on the tendors. quasi on par with a commercial model. Then adjust the length of the feedline and also work 30m-10m with no tuner. :-) Yep, Just as long as you ditch the tuner. I guess instead of 1.25 wave, I should have said 1.5 wave. 3/4 wl a side would be a good match for coax. You could feed an EDZ ".64 wave per leg" with small loading coils at the feedpoint, and the losses wouldn't be worth worrying about. Very low...Or use the correct length of ladder line to get a good match..Just a regular coax fed dipole on 40m will be very efficient. What, maybe about 97-98 % for the average 50-100 ft length of decent coax?? Very low losses anyway. MK |
