I have been thinking about getting an Outbacker and using it with a 3 magnet
mount for my van and SUV. What is your opinion/s of this setup. It appears
that height will not be a problem with it hitting anything. Thanks for your
opinions.

I'm pretty happy with the Joey (which is not recommended for mobile use
btw), but these suckers are expensive, and if you only operate one or
two bands, you won't get your money's worth out of it. I'm going to
have to force myself to branch out from 20 and 40.

That said, you get every band in one piece of equipment, with no loose
parts to lose and no power requirement, and there's something to be
said for that.

I had an outbacker several years ago. I couldn't get rid of it fast
enough. It was just no match for Hustlers, Hamsticks. Put one of the
small screwdrivers up if you need 80-10.

The Outbacker is a little worse than the Hustlers and a
little better than the Hamsticks on 75m - about 8 dB down
from a good bugcatcher or screwdriver.
