![]() I will be in Ontario and Los Angeles, CA area this weekend and will have a lot of free time. Are there any good electronics/Ham stores in that you would recommend? Electronic Surplus stores that have radio gear/parts are a plus as well. I have an internet connection at my hotel, so any responses anytime this weekend will be read. Thanks! Russ W6OHM |

Russ,
There is a SCARS (So Cal Antique Radio Society) swap meet starting at 7AM in a parking lot at 1000 Isobel St. in Burbank if you are interested. Take the Burbank Blvd offramp to Victory (bottom of the overpass) . Turn south on Victory, go one block or so to Isobel and turn rt. The parking lot is on the left side. Enjoy, Mike KF6KXG |

Russ W6OHM The TRW [now Northrop-Grumman Space Technology] is stil around - on the last Saturday of each month so this will not work for Russ on this weekend. There are Ham Radio Outlet stores in Burbank and in Anaheim and Jun's Electronics in Culver City. I only know of one electronic surplus outlet, ALL Electronics which I recall being in Burbank - been there once and it wasn't worth a return trip for me, nothing I couldn't get elsewhere or via online ordering. I suggest you may have more fun by spending part of the afternoon in Venice (in between LAX and Santa Monica) and take a walk along the 'boardwalk' (improperly named as it is concrete) and enjoy the outrageous people. You'll find all sorts of colroful folks hawking anything from sunglasses to magic beans, perhaps see the chainsaw juggler and see body art that could make you cringe. It is an interesting study in sociology and you can enjoy today's clear skies, warm temperatures, ocean air and thong-clad SoCal beauties. Howard |

It was on the road that runs N-S just off the east end of the LAX.. Sepulveda, I think... Was about 2mi N of the airport... west side of the street. There was another store was close to, just north of, DL. I remember passing it heading south off one of the big highways. Was also on the west side of the street.
