Hi guys.
I have a Hy-Tower, with the 160m add-on inverted-L. It has never loaded up well, even when it was working properly, the best I could get was 3:1 at 1840 KHz. Now, it has gotten worse, (water in the trap?) and I am re-thinking the situation. Is there any reason why I shouldn't just forget the trap, and attach the inverted-L wire at the base, and then just use an insulator near the top to hold it up? This would be essentially a second antenna, a few inches from the first. It may cause a change in the loading on 80 or 40, but nothing that my tuner can't handle. Ideas? Suggestions?
