Great picture. What happens when the guy buys gas and drives under the

Well, I don't care who you are, at least once any normal person is going to
forget and drive right up to the pump without remembering to first lower or remove the antenna. "clvrmnky" wrote in message .ca... [stuff] It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like it can be adjusted to lay flat. Whether or not this can be done in a convenient manner is another thing, I guess. |

Or is this antenna story just a way to earn some money? You have to send the
guy at least 20 Euros (approx 20 USD) in order to receive (hopefully) the construtional details in March 2006... If it is a true ham project, I don't understand why the details can not be published on a simple web page. For only $20 US, I will tell you how to build a reduced size bridge that is only 10% of the length of what is needed to span the river, but it will work just as well. Promise! I personally would only use such a rig under special situations (i.e., the thing only goes on for a weekend or something.) Everyday use is asking for trouble. Mobile installations have their own challenges. I'd probably live with the trade-offs and put a big old whip from front bumper to the back. One should be able to use various tricks to electronically lengthen or shorten the whip to tune to the range you want, right? |
