I don't have one. Try a 10W light bulb.

I have occasionally seen folks using power resistors for the application
as well. Try 10 to 100 ohms.

Check out any good gun shop or on-line gun accessories site (Caballas,
e.g.) They have small, cylindrical heater units for gun safes. Mine is
about 5/8 diameter and.. maybe 7 inches long, 115v.

+++++++++
A heater de-humidifier unit is a common safe accessory. Some of the
safes even have interior lighting. The electric cord comes through
the back.

As with most popular safe brands, there's an access provided.

He wasnts to keep it dry, not set it on fire.

10 Ohms would dissiapate 1322.5 watts @ 115 VAC

100 Ohms would dissiapate 132.25 watts @ 115 VAC

1000 Ohms would dissiapate 13.225 watts @ 115 VAC

2500 Ohms would dissiapate 5.29 watts @ 115 VAC

Hi,

The dampness chaser resistor connected across the fused a.c. line
in the Hallicrafters SX-115 receiver is rated at 2K Ohms, 8 Watts.

It is not cylindrical, but is heat-sinked under the chassis.

Ed Knobloch
