Anybody ever tried connecting both sections of the tube together and
using this device on HF instead of VHF? Its cheap and is good for 100W max output with 1kV anode potential |

And, it is a modern version of the 829, a dual tetrode used in radar service
in WW II. During the Korean war, the 4D32 that was used in the Viking I and a few other rigs was grabbed up by the military and none were available for civilian sale. So, the 829 was stuck in its place. I still have an 829 in mine. Many came from the factory that way. The 5894 is a good tube. Besides use in parallel for the rf, it can be used as a modulator. 73, Colin K7FM |

Thanks for the tip Ed. Have down loaded schematic for Eldico rig to see
how it was done. In Europe this tube was used in a Fish Phone rig (2-4MHz) made by Salor Radio of Denmark. I know it can be done, but with four tubes in parallel ?
