But if I got that year, I would get what I want.

What I am actually looking for is the article or project on using 813's as
triode modulators. If that expands the editions, so be it.

I can confirm that the 1959 ARRL handbook does NOT have any modulator
using 813s connected as triodes. I have several ARRL handbooks, including
the 1959 edition. One of the guys talked about the Bill Orr "Radio
Handbook". I have only one of the editions, 1956, and it does NOT have any
pair of 813s circuit, triode-connected, for modulators. But, it DOES have
a circuit for triode-connected 807s.

The Thirteenth Edition of the Bill Orr "Radio Handbook" (not the ARRL
handbook) has an article on a 500-watt, 813 modulator with photos,
parts list, and schematic. The next volume I have is the sixteenth
and it only has the schematic and parts list. So, you need something
around the 13th to 16th editions for the 813 modulator article. --Ed

I will do some searching, but I think the Radio Handbook, rather than the
Radio Amateur's Handbook, may have the article you are looking for.

You are absolutely correct and someone has emailed the article to me.

Thanks,

Well, could not find it in the upstairs library. Will
need to go out to the hamshack. If it is not there, I
will look in the darkroom. Please say nothing to my wife
about my temporary book displacement.

OMG, another two-hobbied person (maybe three with the
books). I paraphrase James Thurber from a parody advice
column:
Q. Doctor, we have books the way some people have mice.
A. I can't tell if you are complaining or bragging.

I brag. My wife complains. Who says you can't have it both ways.

My wife is a librarian. She loves my getting books. She looks for them
for me, lamintates the covers of paperbacks and helps me "weed" the collection.

She's also a ham, so she tolerates my need for radios.
