However, a better bet is WinDjView which is a "viewer" just like Adobe's free viewer for pdf files. WinDjView (and MacDjView) can be downloaded from http://windjview.sourceforge.net/ Remember this is a viewer, so you download the djvu file to your computer and then open it with WinDjView by double-clicking on the djvu file. 73, Ken K4XL *** BoatAnchor Manual Archive *** On the web at http://bama.sbc.edu and http://bama.edebris.com FTP site info: bama.sbc.edu login: anonymous p/w: youremailadr |

For those who want to create djvu files as well as read them, you can download the free DjVu Solo 3.1 software from http://www.planetdjvu.com/resources.htm I think this is an obsolete version of the current DjVu software. Resulting files are often far smaller than corresponding pdfs, especially for such items as circuit diagrams. There are also web sites that offer a free conversion from pdf to djvu and also provide an index to the text - even for photocopied boatanchor manuals. One example is http://any2djvu.djvuzone.org/index.h...ny2DjVu+Server Simon |

You have to upload the big file to convert it on line. Might as well just send the big file to the recipient and be done with it. js -- PHOTO OF THE WEEK: http://schmidling.com/pow.htm Astronomy, Beer, Cheese, Fiber,Gems, Sausage,Silver http://schmidling.com |
