Default Radio-Mart at it again... still

Even keeping though he tries keeping everything as private as
possible, Radio-Mart is getting negative feedbacks worldwide. How long
does this have to go on before his account gets pulled? Venting
complete.

I would say that a 97.5% positive rating out of almost 5,000
transactions isn't too bad.

I dont think thats the point, I think the point is most of the negative
feedback is always about one thing, NOT AS DESCRIBED.

I haven't figured out his system, unless he has many ebay accounts and bids
against himself? Or does he have a group of friends drive up the bids to a
predetermined level? How can one consistently buy radios off the 'Bay and
always sell them for a substantial profit? I thought at one time his
shipping charges were high; but not really if he uses a shipping service to
pack and ship. The Radio Mart chap bought two radios from me some years ago.
When he listed the radios, he made up some bull stories about them. Totally
unecessary-- because both radios were in great shape and did not need
embelishment!!

Does anyone know know his marketing system?

Jim

Well he is the most prolific seller of gear in the radio catagories. But I
wounder if he makes as much as we think allthough I'm sure he does make a
profit. I sell a fair amount on Ebay and it's a lot less than him and I'll
tell you it's quite a bit of work really and if you weigh your time listing,
answering email, packing, driving around a anything else? it's work. His
philosophy is sell quantity, but at any given time he has thousands wraped
up in stuff he's bought to sell.

Yep, it is an easy one:

First, clean everything up so it shines.
Second, write an interesting story about the item.
Third, take lots of flattering pictures.

If you do that, you too can sell for top dollar.

-Chuck

Ps. I learned a long time ago that the simple act of cleaning up the scum
off of hamfest equipment made it sell for a lot more. I sometimes went around
to other tables, bought something that was dirt crusted, and cleaned it off
and doubled my money.

I wrote an editorial about that for Comm'Quarterly many years ago..
How folks put dirty radios out for top dollar, and don't even
consider what a few minutes of labor would have done for
their potential sales and bottom line...

I just did some basic math on Martyn aka Radio-Mart and he has 8599
feedbacks in about 7 yrs and if we just average about $200 a sale that means
he sold $1,719,800.00 and devide by seven adds up to 245K a year worth of
radios and most of his radios I think sell between $200-2000 so $200 is low
enough to account for his overhead too and we can probably safely say he
made that??? His alias gottahaveit1995 has bought $41945.61 in radios from
Feb 25th-Mar-20th. My point is why would Ebay want to get rid of a high
roller like that. I wouldn't.
