Hi, Geoff
I'm seeding now, but it is taking forever. I'll leave my computer on over night. No promises - if no joy by tomorrow, I'll pull the plug. I've never had much luck with bit Torrent. 73, Ed Geoffrey S. He has it divided into individual files for each datasheet, which is a pain if you want to print them all out but kind of handy if you only want to look one up. note that the HB-3 is a loose-leaf binder handbook, which RCA sent regular updates and additions to. Not everybody subscribed to the updates and not everyone that subscribed to them used them, so you will occasionally find differences between two HB-3 books. Consequently, it's a really good thing to have several versious available online. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

Pete has a lot of good stuff on his site and doesn't make you wait or pay for multi-part files. He states that his version of the HB-3 is not yet complete but I haven't counted pages, it may be just as complete as the other one which is a genuine PITA to download. -- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles WB6KBL |

While it certainly is valuable the version at Filefactory is relatively complete and combines into a single PDF. You should check the version at Millet's site because it may have some tubes not included in the Filefactory version (see Scott Dorsey's comments above). -- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles WB6KBL |

http://www.filefactory.com/file/af68...HB-3_part2_rar http://www.filefactory.com/file/af68...HB-3_part3_rar I have downloaded the three files. Despite they have different filenames, after de-raring they all have the same contents! Tony I0JX |

If you do download all 3 parts, keep their names unchanged and put them
in the same directory, then must unRAR programs will assemble the entire book as one file if you extract the first file. I put the three files in the same directory and un-rared part 1, so getting a 214 Mbyte file. My mistake was that I then also un-rared part 2, so getting the same 214 Mbyte file. And again for part 3. I now understand I should have only un-rared part 1. By the way, the rar compression is almost inexistent, because the sum of part1, part2 and part3 is very close to 214 Mbyte. Probably rar was only used to split the big file into three smaller files. Just to double check: first tube is 0Z4A, last tube is 9006. 73 Tony I0JX |

Yes, that's because the images are already compressed. They use a very high compression algotrythm, uncompressed the book would be around 3500 megabytes, instead it's less than 1/10th of that. RAR compression on top of that does not give you very much savings. Now, if only there was a way to index it by computer. Geoff. -- Geoffrey S. Mendelson, Jerusalem, Israel N3OWJ/4X1GM |
