Sir's & Sir ette's
Please indulge me here and throw a little education my way. Just what does a 'Beat Ocsillator' switch do? Mine is a Hammarlund HQ120 to which this question reguards. I'v searched 'Wiki' for 'BFO' and the technecal jargon (Probably infinantly simple to most) seemed to be beyond my comprehention, well sort of anyway. Please, is there someone who could put it into a 8th grade format? lol....Please explain. As a note..... when I was tuning SW broadcasts, it seemed that the beat oscillator switch on the upper right of my 120 made no apparent change in anything while listening ?

Go back to the wiki thing and enter "beat frequency oscillator" or just
copy-n-paste: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_frequency_oscillator Read up on it, then come back with additional questions. |
