I havent powered it up yet, just working around the outside. Ive replaced the cracked frequency dial glass. The antenna connector got dinged and the whole assembly got bent so that needs to be replaced. The front panel screw that seems to hold the Antenna Loading shaft in place is loose and somehow binds up the control if I try and tighten it so... They both look like they were last owned by a capybara, spent time at the bottom of a river, and then were home to mice. I have been working on the better of the two. I cleaned it up very thoroughly, changed a few bad tubes, fixed the slug rack which was off the rear pivot, replaced all the electrolytic capacitors, cleaned the switches, disabled the PA, and fired it with the HV rectifier removed. The radio works--except it only gets one... KWM-2 in rough shape |
