![]() I am trying to use a UTC CVM transformer and am having trouble understanding the pins to use. I have a pair of 6L6s which call for 6600 ct input. The charts I have been able to find call for the following: P-B-B-P 1-3-4-6 see http://www.amwindow.org/tech/htm/modtran/utc/cvm.htm I am not sure how this connection works as I cannot seem to get a Grid-CT- Grid resistance reading that makes sense. Can anyone help me ? Thanks and 73 -- Carl WA1KPD Visit My Boatanchor Collection at http://home.comcast.net/~chnord/wa1kpd.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ Disclaimer: Any resemblance to the views of anybody living or dead is coincidental. CVM Series is Modulation XFMR's They will be Push Pull plate to a
secondary which is the RF final tube connection in series with B+. I guess You know You will NOT read a DC resistance with a ohmeter on the transformer that relates to the charts? The values are A/C inpedance values. Regards, Sparks W4EAS |

Hi Sparks.
Understand what you are saying. I am trying to hook up and find resistance between the primary inputs with a center tap. If my artworks means anything here is what I am looking to figure out for the center tap primary Pin#? Pin #? Pin #? !_ _!_ _! UUUUUU UUUUUU Thanks -- Carl WA1KPD Visit My Boatanchor Collection at http://home.comcast.net/~chnord/wa1kpd.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------ Disclaimer: Any resemblance to the views of anybody living or dead is coincidental. I don't have your origional post but thought it had a P--B-B--P
connection. P goes to one of the 6V6 plates, B-B are tied together for CT which will be Modulator B+ connection, and the other P will be the other 6V6 plate. The connections are the primary and for Push Pull 6V6 modulator tubes. The other connections are for the secondary and usually have two windings which can be connected in series or parrlall s depending on the turns ratio/Z required and feed the RF final amplifier tube. It goes in series with the B+ lead to the final. Your post sounded like you were looking for a Push Pull "input" for the grids of the 6V6's? Regards, Sparks W4EAS |
