Hi,
Does anyone know of a GR incremental inductance bridge, or a Megohm bridge for sale or trade? I do electronics engineering, but so far not much with radio, and have not gotten a HAM license... maybe soon though. Two kinds of projects want some "old but good" test equipment -- developing organic semiconductor printable diodes wants a megohm bridge, and designing power supplies related to that wants an inductance bridge. Thanks for any suggestions where to look. I've seen these GR bridges go by on ebay recently, but the prices were steep, and some high prices were for damaged/partial equipment... John Griessen |

The prices are steep because both of these are still quite useful and there is demand for both. The 1633A, in particular, is a unique and very useful instrument, but mainly of interest to designers of audio- and power-supply-frequency transformers and inductors. I'm puzzled at why you would need one to develop a power supply, though. The 1633A is used to evaluate the characteristics of power supply transformers and chokes with "real world" AC and DC operating levels, although it does have some other uses. Were you planning to design and build your own power supply components? These are like any instruments on eBay - if they are in good condition, and useful enough that there is significant demand for them, they won't be cheap. You wouldn't expect a useable rubidium frequency standard to close there for $2.00, would you? Dale H.
