So I managed to get ahold of a Marconi TF1245 Q Meter. After doing some
research on the internet, I found out that it needs a separate oscillator unit. I do not have this. I tried using a regular ol' signal generator but I was unable to get a response on the "Q MULTIPLIER" panel (you're supposed to increase the amplitude on the oscillator until the needle swings to the "x 1" position). I'm using the low frequency input, with the freq.gen set to 100Khz. Further reading has suggested it may be an impedence matching issue; and I have no idea what voltage the unit is looking for so perhaps my freq.gen can't go high enough. If anyone could give me some hints on how to get this thing working I would be most appreciative. (Of course, the thing was being junked, so it might not work in the first place...heh...although it does "come alive" when turned on and is otherwise in perfect condition inside.)
