Bob, yes there is a shutter mechanism. The center knob runs it up and

I's definitely not an RME. I have an RME 69 and an RME 70.It's an RCA

I think "Fred" would be a good name for the radio in question.
Note: as others have commented, it looks like an AR-77 to me. |
