I just saw this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...122244 9&rd=1 BC-224-H go for $1,475 and decided to dig out my radio. I have a near perfect BC-224-G, SN 128, with matching dynamotor. When I look at the milList site, I notice that there are no details on the -G. Anyone know more about this particular RCA version? Thanks, Steve. -- Steven D. Steve:
As far as I am able to determine, your BC-224-G (and for that matter, the other fellows BC-224-H) does not stand out as anything particularly special. You should take a look at the following site (http://hereford.ampr.org/history/bc-...#_Toc438558117) for rather detailed information regarding the 224 and 348 variants. I would guess that the fellow who bid $1,475 will probably not follow through with payment. These things are still very common, and although a very good one might fetch several hundred dollars on e-bay (where they are always over bid), they are probably not worth more than about $100-$150 in good (working) condition. I suppose a "serious" collector might have a reason to want an H model - but I'm at a loss as to why any knowledgeable person would bid that much. Roger, KL7Q Steven Swift wrote in message ... Steve: (http://hereford.ampr.org/history/bc-...#_Toc438558117) for rather I had a look at this site. Nicely done, thank you for pointing it out. I sent email to the author letting him know that I have some SNs not shown on his site. For example, I have a BC-224-H with SN 2207 (he lists a high SN of 1033). Thanks again. Steve. -- Steven D.
